Hunde snacks

Sweet snacks for dogs? Everyone knows that sugar, chocolate and the like are harmful to our four-legged friends. In fact, there is a deliciously sweet exception, which is also really healthy: honey! Of course, the delicious bee honey should not become part of the daily diet and is taboo for puppies. Fed occasionally and in small amounts, it provides our adult dogs with an extra portion of minerals, antioxidants and vitamins. Decisive for the digestibility and the positive natural properties is above all the quality of the honey. Conventional products from the supermarket have usually been strongly heated and mixed so that only sugar and "bad" carbohydrates remain. Organic honey from local beekeepers gives our dogs a tasty, sustainable and healthy load of energy. Today we're going to show you some great and super simple recipes that will allow your dog to have a sweet tooth, thanks to our magic ingredient honey.

1.Williams Banana-Honey Chips

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • a little bit honey

Cut the peeled bananas into thin slices (about 3-4 mm). Now lay the banana slices flat on a baking tray lined with baking paper or on a rack with sufficient spacing. Now the honey comes into play: It is best to use a brush to thinly coat all the slices with honey on the side facing upwards. Now you just have to preheat the oven to approx. 75 degrees Celsius. The banana chips must now dry in the oven for about 6-8 hours. Depending on the size of the chips, the baking time also varies. Water vapor that collects in the oven should be allowed to escape every hour by opening the oven door. When the banana chips are lightly brown and nice and crispy, they are done. Just let them cool a bit and the snacking can begin - for humans and dogs alike.

2. Williams Apple-Honey Cookie

Ingredients

  • 150 g. Spelt flakes
  • 350 g. Spelt flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 1 ½ organic apples
  • a little water

Core the apples, cut into pieces and puree. Add a little water if the apple pulp is too thick - it should have about the consistency of conventional applesauce. Now mix the eggs, flour, flakes and honey with the apple pulp and knead until you get a homogeneous dough. Now you need to preheat the oven to 160 degrees convection. While the oven is heating, the dough can be rolled out on a floured surface to a thickness of about 5 mm. Using different cookie cutters, cut out the cookies and place them on a baking tray/rack covered with baking paper. The cookies must now go into the oven for 15 to 20 minutes. The baking time varies by the size of the cookies - they are ready when they are lightly golden brown at the ends. The smell of the sweet apple and honey cookies will definitely make your dog's mouth water.

3. Williams Sweet Vitamin-Yogurt

Ingredients

  • 1 goat or sheep yogurt
  • ½ apple
  • ½ banana
  • ½ pear
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • a dash of linseed oil

Peel the apple, banana and pear, remove the seeds if necessary, chop and puree. Add the yogurt, linseed oil and honey to the fruit pulp and mix everything well. With the help of the linseed oil, the valuable vitamins from the fruit can be better absorbed and digested. The delicious yogurt snack should be fed in small portions - but it can also be wonderfully frozen in an ice cube mold. Dogs that have already made acquaintance with dairy products will be delighted with the tasty and sweet change. This yogurt snack is wonderfully suitable as a comfort food, should your dog suffer from stomach aches or diarrhea.

With our recipes you can really surprise your four-legged friend. Most dogs are still completely unfamiliar with the sweet taste of honey. Feel free to write us in the comments how your fur nose liked the sweets.

By the way: If you want to give your dog a small and absolutely healthy treat in between meals without having to wield the wooden spoon yourself - we now have our own dog snacks! The William Walker Treats are 100% made in Germany and have only natural and, incidentally, sustainable ingredients.
